“Towards Indonesia Emas 2045: Aligning Energy Security, Economic Growth, and Environmental Sustainability”

Jakarta, August 23, 2025 – Institute for Economy, Energy, and Finance (IEEF) participated in the PYC International Energy Conference 2025, which carried the overarching theme “Towards Indonesia Emas 2045: Aligning Energy Security, Economic Growth, and Environmental Sustainability.” This event served as a pivotal forum to discuss Indonesia’s strategies for safeguarding energy security, driving economic growth, and ensuring environmental sustainability in pursuit of the Indonesia Emas 2045 vision.

The conference was attended by high-ranking officials, including H.E. Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, and H.E. Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, whose presence underscored the government’s commitment to aligning energy policies with the trajectory of sustainable national development. Several distinguished speakers also shared strategic insights, among them Anindya Bakrie who presented on “Sustainable Energy as a Catalyst for Green Growth,” Ming Ongkwan, Global Strategy Director of Halliburton, who discussed “Strategic Green Growth: Leveraging Oil & Gas Expertise,” Togu Pardede, Director of Energy Resources, Mineral, and Mining, who emphasized “Indonesia’s Net Zero Target: Embedding Climate Goals in Development Planning,” Achmed Shahram Edianto, PhD, Southeast Asia Transition Partnership (ETP) Indonesia Programme Lead at the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), who highlighted international institutional support for Indonesia’s energy transition, and Yinglun Teng, Energy Analyst at the IEA Regional Corporate Center, who shared perspectives on “Sustainable Energy for Green Growth.”

IEEF’s Executive Director, Dzikri Firmansyah Hakam, PhD, was also appointed as a jury member for the Call for Papers segment, part of the conference series. His role reflects IEEF’s contribution to strengthening academic research and providing a platform for young scholars and researchers to present innovative ideas related to energy transition and sustainable development. “IEEF’s participation in this international forum highlights our strategic role as a bridge between academia, policymakers, and energy industry stakeholders. IEEF is committed to supporting the achievement of Net Zero Emissions while ensuring an energy transition that aligns with the Indonesia Emas 2045 agenda,” stated an IEEF representative. Through its involvement in the PYC International Energy Conference 2025, IEEF reaffirms its commitment to advancing academic discourse, research, and cross-sector collaboration in building a resilient, equitable, and sustainable energy system for Indonesia’s future.
