IEEF Participates in Research Partnership Workshop #1 at CSIS Indonesia

"Advancing Decarbonization Research for Sustainable Development"

Press Release

Jakarta, December 12, 2025 – The Institute for Energy, Economics & Finance (IEEF) participated in Research Partnership Workshop #1, organized by the Decarbonization for Development Lab (DfD Lab) at Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Indonesia. The workshop forms part of a broader initiative to strengthen policy-oriented research on decarbonization pathways and their interaction with economic development in Indonesia.

The workshop convened researchers, policy experts, and institutional partners to exchange perspectives on advancing evidence-based climate and development research. It served as a strategic platform to foster collaboration across institutions and to ensure that emerging research agendas remain responsive to Indonesia’s development priorities amid global climate and energy transition challenges.

During the Research Partner Presentation session, Nitha Pricillia, Research Fellow at IEEF, presented a research proposal examining the linkages between climate policy, economic dynamics, and their implications for sustainable development and investment in Indonesia. The proposed study aims to provide analytical insights into how climate policy instruments can be designed to support both decarbonization objectives and long-term economic resilience.

The presentation was followed by an in-depth discussion with designated discussants and workshop participants, who provided constructive feedback on the research scope, methodological approach, and policy relevance. The exchange highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary and cross-institutional dialogue in refining research frameworks and ensuring that analytical outputs can effectively inform future policy decisions.

Through its participation in the workshop, IEEF reaffirmed its commitment to contributing rigorous, policy-relevant research that bridges climate action and economic development. Engagement in the DfD Lab research partnership underscores IEEF’s role in supporting collaborative knowledge generation to guide Indonesia’s transition toward a low-carbon and sustainable development pathway.
